Evaluating public participation in environmental decision-making: EPA's superfund community involvement program

Article Abstract:

An 8-year ongoing project that evaluates the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA's) Superfund community involvement program with a number of issues pertaining to the evaluation of public participation in environmental decision making is discussed. The results indicate that EPA investment in public participation programs is worthwhile, though there need to be institutionalized processes that ensure evaluation results.

Eco-efficiency analysis of an agricultural research complex

Article Abstract:

Efforts to integrate piecemeal environmental improvements into a farm-wide program of systematic improvement, are described. Certain measures related to the Complex's eco-efficiency are combined into a ratio that provides a useful target for management and continuous improvement.
