First principles of the MameLuke multi-actor modelling framework for land use change, illustrated with a Philippine case study.

Article Abstract:

The first principles of the MameLuke framework, an agent-based modelling framework for studying environmental issues and land use and cover change (LUCC) that enhances the understanding of the relationship between societal processes and LUCC, are discussed. The basic architecture of the MameLuke framework is explained and its applicability with a model of a Philippine case study, which concerns the dynamics of migration and deforestation, is demonstrated.
