Social perceptions of the impacts of Colombo water supply projects

Article Abstract:

The urban areas in Colombo are provided with basic infrastructure such as piped water, electricity, communication, transportation, better social, educational and health facilities. The social and economic impacts of the projects are to determine the residents' perceptions to identify positive and negative impacts of the projects and recommend necessary corrective actions.

Terrestrial water cycle and the impact of climate change

Article Abstract:

Projections are calculated from research on the world's hydrologic cycle, using a macro-scale water balance model and two General Circulation Model-based scenarios of climate change. Findings predict a worldwide water demand increase in 2021-2030 due to climate change. Environmental impacts for specific regions are discussed.

Controlling residential water demand in Qatar: an assessment

Article Abstract:

Due to population increase and rapid development, there is serious water problem in Qatar, as the locals do not know the importance of water preservation. Awareness is being brought among the people about the expense in desalination and charge will be levied among the people to bring about sustainability.
