Speaking double: the Latino television market is going bilingual

Sony Corp. wants its investment in Telemundo to impact the network's competition with dominant rival Univision. Telemundo will offer a series of new programs that are closer to Hispanic Americans' daily cultural life in the US. Some of these programs will be done in Spanglish which is more popular with assimilated Hispanics.

Holiday signifiers: sometimes Christmas lights shed light on lives inside the houses

Article Abstract:

A man recalls the socioeconomic taint over the Christmas lights decoration in the various part of the small Western town he grew up in. The wealthy elite, the faculty members, the neighborhoods Christmas lights association and the rowdy poor, all of these statuses were reflected in the decorations.
