International trade in meat: the tip of the pork chop

Article Abstract:

The importance and the actual amount of global land, water and nitrogen that are used for the production and trade of feed and animal products is examined. Results prove that the costs of the resources can be easily minimized by increasing the efficiency of water and nitrogen.

The localized environmental degradation of protected areas adjacent to bird feeding stations: a case study of the Australian brush-turkey Alectura lathami

Article Abstract:

The potential for wildlife feeding, of the Australian brush-turkey, Alectura lathami, in densely populated areas is analyzed. The results shows that wildlife feeding can have adverse effects on the integrity of local environments.

Environmental impact assessment of salmonid feeds using Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)

Article Abstract:

The Life Cycle Assessment method is used to examine the environmental effects of aquafeeds for rainbow trout production. It is found that decreased use in nutrient emissions is important for aquafeed development.
