North America climate variation influences survival in adult fulmars

Article Abstract:

Capture mark recapture models are applied to assess the influence of environmental factors, particularly climate variability, on the adult survival of the northern fulmar, 'Fulmarus glacialis', and a pelagic seabird belonging to the Procellariidae family. A 34-year long data is set to investigate inter-annual and inter-individual variation in adult survival in northern fulmars.

Sexual abstinence and the cost of reproduction in adult male water snakes, Nerodia sipedon

Article Abstract:

The size-specific differences in growth and survival between reproductive and non-reproductive adult male water snakes are assessed. The results show that the best males can bear the cost of reproducing and still grow and survive as well or better than low quality males that abstain from reproduction.
