Pesticide pollution remains severe after cleanup of stockpile of obsolete pesticides at Vikuge, Tanzania

Article Abstract:

Removal of the risks to humans and to the environment in areas severely contaminated with pesticides, the necessity to take measures both to dispose off stocked pesticide and to prevent continued environmental contamination from the soil is discussed. Results show the necessity to follow up the environmental situation at a former storage sites of obsolete stocks of pesticides and that the environmental problems are not necessarily solved by removing the visible remains.

Environmental pesticide pollution and its countermeasures in China

Article Abstract:

An overview is presented on the production, use and consequences of pesticide use in China, from the 1950s to the present day. The article includes a brief chemical analysis, toxicity to animals and humans, reductions in the country's biodiversity attributable to pesticide use, and recommendations for pesticide regulation and environmental monitoring.

Development strategy for organic food industry in China

Article Abstract:

A history is presented of the emergence and development of China's organic foods industry, which was launched in the early 1980s under the guidance of government agricultural and environmental policies. The article also explores the introduction of China's organic produce into the global market.
