River pollution from non-point sources: A new simplified method of assessment

Article Abstract:

Global pressure exerted on rivers and other surface water bodies by different land uses is assessed with the help of the potential non point pollution index (PNPI). PNPI can effectively support the development of new multidisciplinary methods for river ecosystem and can complement the results of already existing methods such as the Fluvial Functionality Index (FFI).

A map of spatial preferences of wildlife birds of the Unare Coastal System of Eastern Venezuela

Article Abstract:

Wildlife birds of the Unare Coastal System, Eastern Venezuela, can be studied using a map of spatial preferences (MASP), based on the fact that birds select a region most suitable for their survival. A MASP is very useful in providing information about preferences of wildlife and in solving problems of environmental degradation.
