Shifting-sand control in central Tibet

Article Abstract:

An overview is presented on soil mechanics and sand dune management in the Nianchu, the Lhasa, and the Yarlung Zangbo river basins of Tibet. Techniques include biotic and mechanical measures and reformation of the regions' agricultural structures.

How warm was the Medieval Warm Period?

Article Abstract:

The 'Medieval Warm Period' is studied to determine its actual warmth and the possible implications it may have to 20th century warming. There is evidence of brief warming periods between 1010-1190, but any implications are inconclusive.
