Should environmentalism be radical?

Article Abstract:

Radical environmentalism espouses a concept of postmodernism which rejects old ideas in favor of untested ones. This concept is counterproductive and could hinder the attainment of environmental objectives since it disregards the lessons taught by history. One case that illustrates the folly of this concept is the argument over the Endangered Species Act. Opponents and advocates of this legislation distort history to claim that they are defending a traditional position.
