Social interactions and resource ownership in two private protected areas of Paraguay

Article Abstract:

The results of field research to dissect how social interactions differ between two reserves in Paraguay, Mbaracayu Natural Forest Reserve, also called RNBM, and San Rafael Managed Resource Reserve, also called (RRMSR), having very different styles of governance are described. RNBM is a private reserve owned by non-government organization, while RRMSR is a publicly managed reserve, both with the intention of protecting Atlantic Forest.

Comanagement of wildlife corridors: The case for citizen participation in the Algonquin to Adirondack proposal

Article Abstract:

The effectiveness of comanagement to implement an ecological corridor known as A2A linking Algonquin Provincial Park in southern Ontario to the Adirondack Park in northern New York are focused. Survey results show that A2A supporters have more gains than loses by disseminating information locally and by adopting comanagement for further development of the plan.

Beyond buffer zone protection: a comparative study of park and buffer zone products' importance to villagers living inside Royal Chitwan National Park and to villagers living in its buffer zone

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to emphasize the importance of natural resources of Nepal's Royal Chitwan National Park (RCNP) to the local livelihood. The economic importance of these resources is also discussed.
