The cost of climate change

Article Abstract:

The global insurance and banking industries have shifted investments in an effort to reduce environmental risk caused by global warming. Climate change has an adverse impact on the social, economic and environmental systems. It has lead to climatic extremes which have impelled droughts and famines, and caused wide scale damage to the environment and the global economy. The increase in sea levels will make many low lying areas uninhabitable. The banking industry should give incentives to their clients to prevent ecologically damaging practices.
