The legislation, enforcement, and further needs for biodiversity conservation in China

Article Abstract:

Biodiversity conservation in China remains substandard despite several environmental protection laws passed in the 1980s. Issues that need to be addressed include resource access management, expansion of the wild animal protection list, plant harvesting restrictions, enforcement of illegal hunting laws and regulated sharing of genetic research data. Intellectual property rights are also important to biodiversity in protecting information regarding new plant and animal varieties.
