The negative impacts of human activities in the Eastern African region: an international waters perspective

Article Abstract:

Pollution and climate change are the primary environmental and social concerns in the island of the Indian Ocean, while freshwater storage and unsustainable exploitation of fisheries and other living resources are the primary environmental and social concerns in East Africa. The analysis of the impacts within the international waters perspective has focused on three important policy lessons on the linkages between the impacts caused by human activity and the resources humans depend upon.

Legal requirements and wastewater discharges to polish water bodies, 1945-2003

Article Abstract:

The various national efforts and the legal requirements to govern the wastewater discharges in Poland is studied and analyzed between 1945 and 2003. The analyses outline the main changes during the socialist regime in Poland and after it regained independence that also leads to the need of different legal changes in the policies.

Adaptive coastal planning and the European union's water framework directive: A Swedish perspective

Article Abstract:

The Water Directive was adopted in the year 1999 by the European Union in order to protect the quality of water resources, and maintain the duration of the use of water. Scientific knowledge of water resources and the factors that affect water status would be required to reach the goal.
