Agricultural residuals drive producer-owned energy

Article Abstract:

Three refineries opened by the Minnesota farmers in 2005 are producing more than 60 million gallons of biodiesel annually. The development of farmer-owned renewable energy enterprises that produces biodiesel, ethanol, distiller's grains, wind power, boiler fuel and biomass have given a great opportunity for farmers to increase revenue and reduce the use of petroleum-based fuels.

Energy-saving techniques used by companies

Article Abstract:

A major company in Tokyo is not only aiming to reduce total carbon-dioxide emissions by 6 percent by 2012, but is also aiming to boost use of renewal energy to about 20 percent by 2020. Firms in the United States show commitment to curbing emissions and setting renewable energy targets, with the Governments also considering various measures to expand renewal energy use.

Green energy from food wastes at wastewater treatment plant

Article Abstract:

The full- and bench-scale analysis demonstrated the suitability of the cleaning and recycling postconsumer presorted solid food wastes for the utility district's food waste recycling process and the increment in the biogas production in biogas digesters.
