C&D recycling in the home court

Article Abstract:

The proposed sports and entertainment arena for National Basketball Associations' Portland Trail Blazers will be built using recycled construction and demolition debris. The recycling project is being managed by the River City Resource Group (RCRG) for the general contractor Drake/Turner Joint Venture. RCRG is developing demolition protocol and educational program on recycling procedures for subcontractors. The success of the project has inspired other contractors to use recycled material. Portland has passed a recycling ordinance aimed at reaching a 60% recycling rate by 1997.
