Checking the oil recovery system

Article Abstract:

An increased recovery of used oil is possible by a do-it-yourself oil changer. Regulation of the safety of oil collection points ensures that unscrupulous haulers do not dispose used oil meant for recycling. Licensing the haulers promotes the level of safety in transporting oil. An used oil fund is being created by the enactment of user fees or taxes on motor oils. Better automotive engines reduce engine loss leading to availability of more oil for recovery. Recycling of used oil involves draining of filters.

By George! Composting at Mount Vernon

Article Abstract:

George Washington was a pioneer in composting. Accounts about his use of compost, as shown in his writings to his friends, show that he used manure to enrich the soil of their land in Mount Vernon, WA. He mixed the manure with other organic materials and stored it in a 'dung repository' until it becomes dry and can be applied as an organic fertilizer to farms, orchards and gardens.

Separating the steel from the oil

Article Abstract:

Used oil filters serve as potential resources for recycling and also provide a diversion opportunity. The advantages of these filters include their highly recyclable nature and their motor oil content that requires their removal from landfills. The profitability of recycling these filters depends on specific standards employed during their collection and processing.
