Environmental labeling and consumer's choice-an empirical analysis of the effect of the Nordic Swan

Article Abstract:

A mixed logit model is used to quantify the effect of a certified environmental label on consumers' brand choices of toilet paper, paper towels and detergents, using a large Danish consumer panel with detailed information on actual purchases from the beginning of 1997 to January 2001. It was found that Nordic Swan label had a significant effect on consumers brand choices.

Adjusting to climate change: implications of increased variability and asymmetric adjustment costs for investment in water reserves

Article Abstract:

An analysis of water storage capacity investment finds that it is positively related to the level of uncertainty. Uncertainty, caused by hydrological cycle variability, increases the capital stock's long-term equilibrium level as water resources become more valuable. Investment reversibility also increases as a higher social value is placed on environmental assets.

Options, uncertainty and sunk costs: an empirical analysis of land use change

Article Abstract:

The effects of uncertainty and sunk costs on conversion decisions are examined. Actual landowner decision-making incorporates the option values into land conversion decision, and the magnitude of these options is potentially large.
