Evaluating performance of compost blankets

Article Abstract:

Three compost types were tested for their erosion protection and runoff control properties, along with their affects on water quality. Compost types tested were a fine-textured product made from biosolids, a medium-textured product made from grain processing and paper mill sludge, and a coarse-textured product made from yard trimmings. Blanket applications of two inches performed equally to those of four inches.
