Finding markets for C and D (non) debris

Article Abstract:

The convention is a good opportunity to demonstrate the benefits of deconstruction and recycling for Green Goat, a Somerville, MassachusettsEs non-profit than works with developers, contractors and building material manufactures to divert construction and demolition (C & D) debris. The onsite contractor, Shawmut Design and construction, and the Democratic National Convention Committee (DNCC) Green Goat provided advice on designing convention facilities at Boston's Fleet Center.

Composting takes root at Boston Hyatt regency

Article Abstract:

The Hyatt Regency, one of only handful hotels in the Boston area is conducting a greening program that aims to separate food residuals for composting. The greening program was initiated in the year 2003 when the Coalition for Environmentally Responsible Economies (CERES), a local nonprofit, approached the hotel about hosting CERES' annual conference.

Sustainable resource management in the hospitality industry

Article Abstract:

The Doubletree Hotel and Executive Meeting Center in Portland, Oregon, has reduced its waste disposal volume by almost 65% since 1996. In January 2006, it became the first hotel in Oregon and the only branded hotel west of the Mississippi River, to meet the Green Seal certification's requirements for sustainable business practices.
