Formula for recycling success

Article Abstract:

An overview is presented on municipal waste recycling in West University Place, Texas, focusing on community support for the program despite the relative ease and current availability of landfilling. Components of the program include curbside pickup and dropoff services; an examination of costs saved from avoiding landfill fees is also presented.

Expanding the potential of in-vessel cocomposting

Article Abstract:

Located in the eastern mountains of Arizona, the Pinetop-lakeside sanitary district has been expanding its cocomposting operations for both municipal solid waste and biosolids. Arizona's Pinetop-Lakeside facility enjoys community support because it takes two waste streams and combines them to create a marketable product.
