Getting businesses to buy recycled

Article Abstract:

The Buy Recycled Business Alliance is targeting to reach reach the number of 1,000 companies to participate in the program by its first anniversary on Oct 1993. The Alliance started out with 27 member companies last Oct 1992 and has already purchased a total of $2.7 billion in recycled products. Meanwhile, 100 companies have already signified their commitments to the program but the gruop aims to ask these companies to increase their purchases. The Alliance was initiated with a $50,000 funding from the EPA given to the National Recycling Coalition.

Florida's quest for markets

Article Abstract:

The State of Florida believes that with their huge monetary resources, it would be able to create a market for recycled products by assuming the role of supplier and consumer of recyclables. The eventual target of this program are private investors. But enticing the private sector to similarly venture in the production and marketing of recycled products requires that questions regarding the sufficiency of the state supplied market and the alternatives available if it does not work as envisioned, be answered first.

Overcoming barriers to marketing ROP

Article Abstract:

The existing and potential market for Recycled Organic Products (ROP) in Florida, a real issue and challenge that the organics recycling industry is faced with that was explored is presented. The issues of concern and the attitudes of those who already use compost as well as noncompost users in Florida are explored.
