Metal Management makes Arizona purchase

Metal Management Inc of Chicago, IL, has announced that it is seeking to acquire the assets of National Metals Co in Phoenix and Tuczon, AZ. Under the proposed deal, Metal Management will pay $4.5 million in cash and $500,000 in stock and $200,000 in notes for the assets of the bankrupt National Metals. Meanwhile, Metal Management has posted a loss of $5.9 million in the 2nd qtr ended Sep 30, 1999, from a loss of $50 million in the year-ago period.

Iannazzo steps down at Philip
Article Abstract:
Philip Services Corp of Hamilton, Ontario, has announced that Gene Iannazzo is leaving as president of the Metals Services Group. Iannazzo joined the company in 1997 and was named president of the Metal Services group in Nov 1998. Phillip Service is currently conducting a search for a new president. Meanhile, the company appoined Fred Cranston as chief operating officer of the Metal Services Group.
