North Carolina builds organics recycling infrastructure

Article Abstract:

North Carolina is placing strong emphasis on the development of its composting industry. A key element of this programme is the administration of waste reduction grants, which are used to assist emerging composting firms and to fund public and private sector schemes that lead to increased waste diversion. The Division of Pollution Prevention and Environmental Assistance in the North Carolina Dept of Environment and Natural Resources has funded a range of composting schemes, including the development of an in-vessel composting system for seafood processing wastes.

Equipment maintenance

Article Abstract:

A good preventive maintenance program (PM), which would eliminate all potential and unexpected breakdown of composting equipment, is discussed.
