Potential for biodiesel as a commercial enterprise

Article Abstract:

The Oregon Department of Agriculture is active in supporting an infrastructure to develop a biodiesel industry in the Pacific Northwest, with sufficient feedstocks, financing, processing equipment and public policies. The major economic factor to consider for input costs of biodiesel production is the feedstock, which is about 80 percent of the total cost.

Dairy farm uses manure to run on "cow power"

Article Abstract:

The Van Ommering Dairy Farm in Lakeside California processes cow manure in a 24-30-day cycle using a plug flow digestion unit designed by RCM Digesters, Inc. This digester helps in producing 90-130KW of continuous electrical output and supplies farm with more power than what is required.
