The Compost Quality Alliance (CQA) established by the Composting Council of Canada, is a voluntary program that involves standardized product testing methodologies to support the advancement of the compost market. Some of the key elements of CQA include standardized product sampling, uniform laboratory testing, appropriate product attributes and usage guidelines.

Pumpkin smashing builds compost awareness

Article Abstract:

The Greater Victoria Compost Education Centre (GVCEC) with local partners organizes Pumpkin Smash each year at Halloween where residents are invited to compost their jack-o-lanterns to divert organic waste from landfills. GVEC promote composting and provides information on backyard and worm bin composting at Pumpkin Smash.
