Public display of consolidation

Article Abstract:

Chicago, IL-based Metal Management Inc., a two-and-a-half-year-old company, has spent the last two years building an organization it believes will combine the strengths of scrap processing's best firms. The company's management team is impressive, with Gerard M. Jacobs as CEO; and Albert A. Cozzi, president and chief operating officer. Metal Management goes after ferrous and nonferrous scrap processing companies that are located in major market areas. Cozzi said the firms targeted for acquisitions must either be the market leader or have the potential to be number one or two in that market.
