State dependence and heterogeneity in fishing location choice

Article Abstract:

A mixed logit model combined with a state dependence parameterization from the marketing literature to explore the distinction between state dependence and heterogeneity in repeated decisions with reference to the fishing location choices of commercial sea urchin drives in California is presented.

Choice and temporal welfare impacts: incorporating history into discrete choice models

Article Abstract:

An approach to estimating discrete choice models that allows for testing consistency with random utility maximization in a time-series context is provided. Significant differences between cross-section and time-series welfare measures are also found.

Meaningful environmental indices: a social choice approach

Article Abstract:

A characterization of meaningful environmental indices is provided. Indices in form of an arithmetic mean are mostly not meaningful because the variable do not satisfy the required property of interval-scale unit comparability.
