State regulation of on-farm anaerobic digestion

Article Abstract:

The regulations and operating permit grants for on-farm anaerobic digester requirements in States of California and New York are reviewed. Some of the identified regulatory challenges related to water, air, electricity, natural gas, and solid waste management as well as jurisdiction over major portions of biogas production and consumption are also analyzed.

State of garbage in America recycling data analysis

Article Abstract:

Columbia University's Earth Engineering Center (EEC) has developed a method of comparative analysis of EEC-estimates of recycled tonnages and the State of Garbage (SOG) Survey results. The main aim of the analysis is to find the impact of inconsistencies in the recycled tons reported by some states on the national recycled quantity results.

State of garbage in America: data and methodology assessment

Article Abstract:

According to a study, in 2001 the rate of generation of municipal solid waste (MSW) in California and New York was double the national rate of MSW generation. A 2003 report on rates of waste management, materials recycling, combustion, and disposal is also discussed.
