Transforming lumber scraps into compost, mulch and fuel

Article Abstract:

South African-based operating in Skowhegan, Maine transformed gigantic piles of discarded wood into mulch for soil products and boiler fuel for cogeneration. The transformation system begins with piles to be processes, loading feedstocks into the grinder and the various steps where contaminants are removed.

Biomass pellets provide low-cost system for home heating

Biomass was seen as an alternative energy source with greatest potential for reducing energy cost. It is suggested that making biomass energy user friendly would make it the most practical and affordable solution.
