Lightning protection for submersible pressure transducers

Article Abstract:

Submersible pressure transducers, which are vital instruments in most water engineering and management facilities, can be very susceptible to damage by lightning. As such, the installation of lightning-protective circuitry, which is certain to add to the cost of installation, is an important part of the design of the facility. The extra cost will certainly be recouped from the number of times that damage and replacement of the sensitive equipment is avoided.

Check value yields cost savings in pump discharge applications

Article Abstract:

ValMatic's Tilted-Disc check valve produces a minimum head loss that results in savings in energy consumption. The valve, which has tapered metal seats made of wear-resistant alloys designed for tight seating and endurance, is ideal for use in discharging raw water, treated water/wastewater and cooling water due to its low head loss attributes. The firm's Tilted-Disc check valve is also self-contained and fully automatic.
