A free trade dilemma

Article Abstract:

A survey of over 75 Cuban American CEOs indicates that 69.7% believe that the US should continue to impose an embargo on Cuba as long as Fidel Castro is in power. However, 27.3% of the CEOs' companies plan to expand their business in Cuba if the trade situation improves.

Hurricane Mitch caused extensive devastation in Central America in 1998. The Inter-American Development Bank's attempts to structure the rebuilding of the area in a way which will impact positively on sustained economic growth are discussed.
