Corporate courtship: Hispanic entrepreneurs seeking love from Hispanic-run funds

Article Abstract:

Many venture firms have started investing more in the Hispanic market as they are becoming aware of the growing Hispanic market and its purchasing power and growth. Although the older generation of Hispanic entrepreneurs is skeptical about expansion and seeking funds, the new generation of family-owned businesses is looking for equity capital, mostly from Hispanic-run funds, to expand the business.

However, major banks have launched special programs designed to boost lending to minority-owned business and increase Hispanic participation in business banking due to pressure from Hispanic advocacy groups.
