Head of the class: Kenny Ortega enjoys the ride with Disney's unstoppable High School Musical

Article Abstract:

The enormously successful Disney Channel movie High School Musical has made its director Kenny Ortega the most noted Hispanic in the entertainment industry in 2006 and one of the dominant forces in the entertainment world irrespective of ethnicity. He is credited with providing family entertainment thus bringing families together through the movie, which was aired 14 times between January and August 2006 and has reached 40 million unduplicated viewers in the United States.

World Cup kicks print media into high gear

The 2006 Soccer World Cup has provided the Spanish-language print media in the US with a much-needed financial boost through increased advertising revenues. A lack of automotive adspending industry is affecting the Hispanic magazine industry, while Spanish-language newspapers are growing due to the launch of Spanish-language products by the mainstream companies in order to attract the Hispanic readers.
