Investing overseas

Article Abstract:

Analysts suggest that portfolios containing emerging market investments may result in higher returns with lower risk than strictly domestic portfolios. Overseas investing permits diversification, reducing risk. In determining where, when and how much to invest, several factors should be considered. Emerging markets may have risks not usually seen in developed nations, such as political changes, currency valuation and communciation difficulties. Mutual fund investment allows instand diversification. Asset allocation of 10% to 25% of total portforlio to international investments is advised, using dollar-cost averaging.
