New definitions for 'disadvantaged'?

Article Abstract:

The definition of what constitutes a minority business may be changed after new months decision by the National Minority Supplier Development Council (MNDSC). The groups represents large corporations and certifies minority ownership. A company must be at least 1% owned by individuals who are racial or ethnic minorities. Discussions are being held on lowering the percentage to approximately 20% with minority management to businesses that are already certified.

Seizing on the ties that bind

Article Abstract:

The State Department hosted a conference in May 2003 regarding the business opportunities inherent in the cultural relationship shared by US Hispanics and their counterparts in Latin America. Several top US administration officials who participated in the conference, encouraged Hispanic entrepreneurs to take advantage of the cultural ties and seek greater trade and investment opportunities in Latin America.

The social security conundrum

Issues concerning the Social Security system in the United States are discussed. Particular attention is given to the plans of the United States president George W. Bush to improve social security conditions for Hispanic retired people.
