Article Abstract:

Estefan Enterprises of Miami, FL, is a diversified firm owned by Emilio and singer Gloria Estefan that has grown from a recording company to a full-fledged entertainment company that commercializes Cuban culture. Among its various businesses are recording, music publishing, talent management, movie and television production, hospitality and real estate. The firm has expanded into the eatery business with its most recent opening of a 550-seat restaurant called Bongos Cuban Cafe, which was opened by the Estefans in fall 1997 at Disney World, FL. So far, over 30 serious investors around the world have expressed an interest to open Bongos restaurants.

North-South power balance

Article Abstract:

The United States and Brazil are expected to be at opposite ends in an effort by countries in the Americas to establish a Free Trade Area of the Americas. The countries will meet in Miami November 21-22. If successful, the FTAA will be operational by 2005, and form the world's largest trading bloc.
