Rising goals in higher education

Article Abstract:

Hispanic Scholarship Fund, established in 1975 has awarded more than 61,000 scholarships to Hispanics students in the U.S., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands totaling more than $115 million. The fund is successful in providing financial aid achieving the target to boost Hispanic college graduation rates with ninety-seven percent of the scholarship recipients earning their degrees.

A review of top graduate schools including medicine and engineering in the United States is provided. The interviews with academics done during the review confirm that affirmative action in higher education has worked parallel to corporate diversity programs to create opportunities for today's Hispanic professional.
