A listing of the top-20 largest corporations in the US, along with their corresponding statistics on the hiring of Hispanics, is presented. These corporations continue to emphasize diversity within their ranks regardless of affirmative action issues. Number one on the list is Citicorp.

Since 1992, Hispanic-owned businesses have grown from 863,000 to 1.35, according to census figures taken in 1996. The 76% increase during that four-year period means that Hispanics are now the largest minority business group in the US.

The number of Hispanic-owned franchises in the fast-food restaurant business is expected to grow. At present, Hispanics account for 3.2% of Burger King's 5,900 franchises and 3.4% of McDonald's franchises.
