Article Abstract:

Most of the behavioral health programs are finding it very tough to find bilingual counselors and staff. Philadelphia-based Congreso de Latinos Unidos, that ranks number 10 on the 2005 Hispanic Business Top 25 Nonprofits directory, has been spending on behavioral counseling and crisis intervention, but even it finds it very hard to find qualified bilingual individuals in the mental health professions.

Opening the door for opportunity

Dionicio Morales, the founder of the 43-year-old Mexican American Opportunity Foundation was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award. He called for the people to take a stand against unfair immigration practices in the U.S. since he feels that its immigration policies are creating chaos, which in turn adversely affects the country's growth.
