A cost-effectiveness evaluation of parent training

Article Abstract:

A parent training program brings greater improvements in child behavior, parent attitudes and family relationships, and incurs less costs than clinical and mental health services in a sample study. However, the clinical recovery rates for control and treatment groups of children vary slightly. The Common Sense Parenting program is an adaptation of the Teaching Family Model of group home care. It helps parents to apply skills to their families, and create and maintain a healthy home environment.
