A shift in birth order

Article Abstract:

Children may experience fear or jealousy when two families unite and the child's birth order changes. An only child may have to share attention or the oldest child may become a middle child. The only child will need to learn to share and compromise. The reactions may be of jealously guarding the mother or father. Arguments between sibling may be beneficial because the children learn how to resolve peer conflict.
