Attachment relationships as predictors of cognitive interpretation and response bias in late adolescence

Article Abstract:

This article discusses the results of a study to determine the responses of late adolescents to ambiguous situations and the link between the responses and attachment relationships. The authors maintain that parental attachments had the most influence over the responses, romantic attachments having some influence, and peer attachments playing a very small role.

Adolescent adjustment and the transition to high school

Article Abstract:

A new study investigates the impact on adolescents of the transition from elementary to high school and looks at the effectiveness of procedures aimed at identifying adolescents experiencing behavioral and emotional problems. The study of 110 children aged between 12 and 14 from two elementary schools in Brisbane, Australia, shows that the transition to high school was generally stressless, although clinical interviews show that 15% of girls and 13% of boys experienced some behavioural and emotional problems.
