Family leave: debating its future

Article Abstract:

Supporters of the FMLA and the National FMLA Technical Corrections Coalition continue to debate about the family leave law. While a 1996 Family Leave Commission study points to the popularity of the law, a 1997 study by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) showed that many firms view compliance with the said law as difficult and costly, prompting SHRM to lobby for its reform.
