Article Abstract:

Pres Clinton has shown himself to be a strong advocate for family and medical leave, the Head Start program and children's health issues. His performance with regard to a national education plan and child care are disappointing. Tax policy and child support are also discussed.

A mother describes her disappointment that neither Pres Clinton nor Bob Dole has offered strong programs for supporting poor families during the 1996 presidential campaign. She may write in a vote for none of the above to express her alienation when she votes.

Who's the real family candidate?
