Late bloomers

Article Abstract:

Some babies take time in learning to crawl, walk or talk. Such developmental delays should not be a cause for concern for parents. Instead, they should find out why their children are late in reaching milestones. For instance, personality is a factor in kids who learn to walk later than usual, as there are some who prefer to read or draw over moving.

The literacy crisis

Issues relating to the literacy standards of children in the United States are presented, with particular focus on the steps which need to be taken to raise ability levels. It is estimated that 40 million adults in the country are either illiterate or dysfunctional readers.
