Making the grade

Article Abstract:

Teachers are increasingly using portfolios to evaluate students. These portfolios, which are a compilation of students' work such as math exercises, writing assignments, book reports, photographs and videotapes, are replacing report cards in assessing students' progress, since the latter do not accurately reflect a child's development.
