GERMANY: GREBE EXCEEDS EXPECTATIONS

Article Abstract:

The German Weilburg-based Grebe group is aiming at a turnover of DM 200mn in 1998 after the successful year 1997. In 1997, all units of the group reached or exceeded the targets and generated a total turnover of DM 195.4mn. The largest unit, Schramm Lacke of Offenbach raised turnover by 4% to DM 79.2mn. Turnover of the main company, Weilburger Lackfabrik improved by 2.7% to DM 61.3mn. Weilburger Gerhardshofen reached the all-time high of DM 15mn, up 14% over the previous year. Turnover of foreign subsidiaries totalled DM 44.2mn, up 7%. Gondola in Italy accounted for DM 17.4mn, Weilburger UK for DM 17.3mn, Grebe Cashew of Japan DM 6.1mn and Weilburger Far East for DM 3.6mn. A new subsidiary, Weilburger-Schramm Iberia S.A., which the Grebe group founded in Spain in March 1998, is to contribute to the turnover growth in 1998.
