Psychological profiles among male delinquents

Article Abstract:

A 20-year study of male delinquents aged between 11 and 19 reveals similar patterns of psychological behaviour. Such delinquents can be divided into categories such as ' the angry. antisocial delinquent, the impulsive delinquent and the inadequate delinquent. The behavioural patterns of juvenile delinquents needs to be understood before they can be helped through correctional programs.

Testing underlying assumptions of the family empowerment perspective

Article Abstract:

Issues related to empowerment within the family structure are examined, focusing on a study which demonstrated how empowerment improves individual functioning within the family. The study concerned juvenile delinquents and measured functioning by use of drugs, instances of criminal activity, and periods of time in detention centers. Quality of family relationships were also measured.

Games delinquents play and what to do about them

Article Abstract:

This article examines psychological games played by delinquents in an effort to combat anxiety and avoid responsibility for their actions and behavior. The author lists 20 games and ploys, such as denial, projection of blame, and setting up others, and offers solutions in handling them, such as reflecting reality back to the delinquent and using a team approach.
