Publishing research reports based on qualitative methods

Article Abstract:

Qualitative research is more difficult to publish because it is not as valued as quantitative research despite its ability to introduce new ideas into the field. The resources for scholars using qualitative methods are not available and most editorial board members are not familiar enough with qualitative methods to accurately judge the research's worth. Qualitative researchers must attract the attention of mainstream journals to receive tenure or merit increases and so it is important to educate the journals' editorial boards and universities as to the need for qualitative research.

We shared something special: the moral discourse of incest perpetrators

Article Abstract:

Incest perpetrators' concepts of justice and care, as revealed by their narrative accounts, are analyzed. Majority of the sex offenders considered incest as a manifestation of love and care and viewed themselves as considerate and fair. However, their behavior at the time the offense was made was contradictory to their professed care, love and sense of fairness. They refused to stop their abusive behavior when children wanted them to stop.
